The Arkansas Tech University on Thursday awarded a $3.5 million construction contract to Cline Construction Group of Little Rock.

CCG will renovate one 17,000-SF section of the Hull Physical Education Building, transforming it into a student union space at the ATU campus in Russellville.

The project will be funded by student fees dedicated to it, by ATU’s educational and general un-appropriated fund balance and by the university’s food services reserve.

Construction will begin in early 2020, with completion anticipated during the fall 2020 semester.

Once finished, the Hull Building student union will include a banquet hall, gaming area, student lounge and catering kitchen.
