Little Rock man shot and killed by police, child found with gunshot wounds


LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — The Little Rock Police Department tweeted at 7:34 p.m. that there was an officer involved shooting on Karon Court.
The shooting reportedly took place on Karon Court, which is near John Barrow Road.
Chief Keith Humphrey said a man was shot and killed by police and a child was suffering from gunshot wounds.
According to police, a woman contacted police about a man taking a child hostage.
Officers responded and the SWAT team was called to the scene after police found out the man was barricaded inside a home.
Police then heard gunshots coming from inside the house and enter the house.
Humphrey said the man confronted officers and was shot and killed.
Police then found a child in another room suffering from gunshot wounds. According to police, the child was between 10 and 12 years old.
The child was taken to a nearby hospital. Their condition is not known at this time.
