2 dead after Ward police respond to domestic disturbance

After Ward officers were dispatched to a “possible domestic disturbance” Monday afternoon, they found two dead.

WARD, Ark. — After Ward officers were dispatched to a “possible domestic disturbance” Monday around 2:30 p.m. to a home on Moonridge Drive, they found two victims dead.

The 911 call came from a third party, according to authorities. The caller said that the ex-husband of one of the victims had “entered the residence and was threatening the victim.”

When Ward police officers arrived and were unable to reach anyone in the home, the Lonoke County Sheriff’s Office helped gain entry where two bodies were found deceased, police say.

“The names of the victim and suspect will be released by Ward Police Department after the next of kin have been notified,” WPD said in a statement.
