LITTLE ROCK, Ark — The Little Rock Fire Department responded to a fire at Episcopal Collegiate School on Cantrell Road after smoke was reported around 3:57 p.m.

According to LRFD, multiples crews are inside trying to locate the source of the fire.

They said it appears to be in the void area above the attic, between shingles and metal, which means it isn’t inside the building.

The school released a statement, saying:

“Today an incident on the Episcopal Collegiate School campus in Little Rock caused damage to the roof as well as interior smoke and water damage to the Upper School building. No flames were apparent and no students or faculty were in the building at the time of the fire. The Little Rock Fire Department is looking into the cause of the fire and believes that it may have been a lightning strike from a localized storm in the area. Plans for classes will be distributed via an internal email to the Episcopal Collegiate community on Sunday.”
