Park Plaza lockdown lifted after shots fired, suspect taken into custody

Park Plaza Mall was previously on lock down due to U.S. Marshals attempting to apprehend a wanted suspect.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — According the the Little Rock Police Department, Park Plaza Mall was previously on lockdown due to U.S. Marshals attempting to apprehend a wanted suspect.

Around 1 p.m., U.S. Marshals say they were trying to serve felony warrants on 38-year-old Chon Armstrong on W. Markham St. 

Police say Armstrong started to flee in his vehicle and attempted to strike a U.S. Marshal. The Marshal reportedly fired his weapon as he attempted to escape the vehicle’s path.

Armstrong was later arrested near Park Plaza Mall. No on was injured.
