The Arkansas Colleges of Health Education in Fort Smith promoted Les Smith to the position of chief operating officer.
Smith, formerly the chief business strategy officer, will oversee the operations and manage financial operations for ACHE. ACHE’s campus includes the Arkansas College of Osteopathic Medicine and the College of Health Science, and the school also recently announced plans to renovate the former office building of Golden Living to house the ACHE Research Institute Health & Wellness Center.
“Les joined ACHE in December 2019 and has proven that he can work in a fast-paced environment,” said ACHE CEO Kyler Parker. “As COO, he will be responsible for the renovation of the newly acquired ACHE Research Institute Health & Wellness Center, the maintenance of the Arkansas College of Osteopathic Medicine facility and the newly opened College of Health Sciences, and future expansion that is currently being planned.”
Before joining ACHE, Smith worked in executive positions at Arvest Bank for 20 years.
“It is exciting to be part of an organization that is advancing health and wellness in Arkansas and positively impacting the Fort Smith community,” Smith said. “In addition to overseeing the operations of our 430-acre campus and the ACHE Research Institute Health & Wellness Center, I will rely on my 20 years of banking experience to manage the financial operations at ACHE. I am so grateful for this opportunity.”
